About the Artist
My name is Laura Cabrita and I am a Portuguese artist primarily focused on watercolors. My works are mainly inspired by portraiture, mythology, classical masters and the emotions of daily life.
Since childhood, I have always been connected to art and creativity, and after pursuing arts in High School, I went to college Animation. Yet I didn’t feel like my path was the right one, so I decided to start pursuing Fine Arts in my own time— through tutorials, art books, and workshops. And so I started my own art journey, which eventually grew into my Youtube channel.
Endlessly inspired by J.S. Sargent, Monet and Agnes Cecile, I explore themes like folklore, fairytales and nature to perhaps evoke a sense of dreamy nostalgia with each painting.
The Lazy Artist Project
‘The Lazy Artist’ Project was born out of the quiet need to write without fear and share art as an honest journey rather than a polished destination.
It all started with my Youtube channel, where I could document my growth, experiments, and small discoveries that shaped my art. With time and patience, it became more than a name. It became a home for my creative process, and also a love for cinematography and filmmaking.
I wanted the ‘lazy’ in the title to be about gentleness, the permission to slow down, breath and explore art. In a world that demands constant speed, ‘The Lazy Artist’ Project invites you to a softer approach - curiosity over perfection, storytelling over fast pacing, sincerity over spectacle.
Through the project, I share my paintings, studies, behind-the-scenes, and the magic of learning. It is my way building a space that feels approachable and authentic - where others might find comfort, inspiration, or perhaps the reassurance that art can take its time to grow. I hope my art can inspire fellow artists, dreamers and creatives.
